Diversified Properties’ CubeSmart Self-Storage Facility in Montville Donates a Storage Unit to Help The Hazel Project to Fulfill its Humanitarian Mission

Montville-based charitable organization provides clothing and other essentials to marginalized people

Montville, N.J. (February 23, 2022) – Diversified Properties, one of the region’s most experienced commercial real estate firms in the northeast, and owner of the new CubeSmart facility at 352 Main Road/Route 202 in Montville, N.J. is donating a large storage space in the facility to The Hazel Project, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that collects and distributes clothing and other living essentials to marginalized people in northern New Jersey and New York City. The space will be used for collection, storage and distribution of donated items to people who suffer from homelessness, substance use disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, BPD, or any other private affliction.

“Having a safe and convenient place for The Hazel Project to collect, sort and distribute clothing and other life necessities to the people we serve has been a Godsend for us,” commented Rachel Tanzola-Sullivan, founder and head of The Hazel Project, which is based in Montville and named for her grandmother. “No person is disposable. Sadly, our society often marginalizes addicts, the mentally ill and others, many of whom who are forced to live in the streets. We are so very thankful that Diversified Properties has made this large unit in CubeSmart available for us so that we can continue to help to make life a little easier for these people in need.”

The 755-unit, state-of-the-art, fully climate-controlled CubeSmart building features units ranging from 5×5’ through 10×30’. The facility provides easy ground-level access with over 40 exterior garage doors on the main level, a state-of-the-art security system with multiple access points, video cameras for both interior and exterior units, gated entry, and security lighting throughout.

The Hazel Project serves people in Northern New Jersey and New York City, who suffer from Homelessness, Substance Use Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, BPD, or any other private afflictions. The mission of The Hazel Project is to improve the quality of life for marginalized people who suffer while enduring judgement from society, by establishing a transitional foundation for them to build upon, combining traditional donation distribution with modern harm reduction techniques.
